The Black Square Turns 100
Kazimir Malevich's Black Square painting was first exhibited in Russia in 1915.
To honor the 100 year anniversary London's White Chapel Gallery has curated:
Adventures of the Black Square, Abstract Art and Society 1915-2015.

Tony DeLap in San Francisco in February
Tony DeLap will be in San Francisco for an exhibit and reception on Friday, February 6th at Rena Brandsten Projects from 5-7pm. There will be a book signing for DeLap's monograph, Paintings, Sculpture & Works on Paper 1962-2013. The recent paintings, sculpture and works on paper on exhibit at Rena Brandsten are far more animated in person than revealed in photographs. Absolutely beautiful paintings & objects !

Suzan Frecon, oil paintings and sun, 02.19 - 03.28
Suzan Frecon's third solo show this February at David Zwirner in New York. This would be a great reason to get the hell out of San Francisco! Suzan creates beautiful arrangements of color and form. And in a similar way as Don Voisine, she uses variations of sheen from matte to gloss. I find her paintings to be absolutely stunning.
