William T. Wiley at the Hosfelt Gallery

Wiley had his first solo exhibition in 1960. His current show at the HOSFELT GALLERY in San Francisco is a beautiful pairing of large scale abstract paintings, produced from 2010 to 2015, together with watercolors that reveal many of Wiley's on going conversations between his alter-ego characters.

Wiley's references and conversations with I Ching, the goat and the raven, drones, Moby Dick, and pharmaceuticals are revealed through text, doodles, color, and perspectival sketches. This allows for many layers of discovery in each of Wiley's works.
